Skinwalker Ranch

// THE SHORT VERSION

Skinwalker Ranch is 512 acres of nothing in northeastern Utah that somehow became the pinnacle of paranormal everything. Eric walks us through the Navajo skinwalker legend (kill a family member, gain the power to wear an animal’s skin, very not worth it), the Sherman family’s cattle mutilations and poltergeist nights, and the parade of owners who kept flipping the place, from billionaire Robert Bigelow and his NIDS research team to real estate guy Brandon Fugal and the History Channel reality show.

Then the theories go fully off the rails: interdimensional portals, secret government microwave-fear weapons, and ancient lost civilizations. Jorge lands on government cover-up, Sean calls it 100 percent fabricated cash grab, and everybody agrees the only real evidence anyone ever reports is a vague sense of foreboding. Sorry J Boots, this one’s a wolf and a real estate trademark.

“What are you going to do, be a shaman? No, I’m going to make a killing off making people believe that they’re a skinwalker.”

— the guys, on the record
// THE EVIDENCE
  • The Navajo skinwalker legend, a shape-shifter who dons an animal skin, a curse you only earn by killing your own family, and that Navajo tradition avoids even naming
  • The Sherman family’s ordeal in the 90s on what was then called Sherman Ranch, including strange lights, cattle mutilations and poltergeist activity in their home
  • The ownership chain: the Myers, the Shermans (1994-96), billionaire Robert Bigelow and his NIDS research institute (1996-2016), then real estate tycoon Brandon Fugal
  • The science angle, including University of Colorado magnetometer studies that came back inconclusive, and skeptic Robert Sheaffer arguing the whole thing was fabricated to inflate the property
  • The three big theories the boys rank: interdimensional portals, a secret government weapons-testing cover-up, and an ancient lost civilization that left behind tech
// CASE QUESTIONS
Where is Skinwalker Ranch and how big is it?
It sits in the remote high desert of northeastern Utah and covers roughly 512 acres of desolate plains and brush-covered hills. It was originally known as Sherman Ranch before gaining its current notoriety.
What is a skinwalker in Navajo legend?
In Navajo lore a skinwalker is a malevolent shape-shifter able to transform into an animal by wearing its skin. According to the legend a person becomes one only after committing a heinous act such as killing a family member, and skinwalkers are so feared that the Navajo typically avoid even speaking of them.
Who owns Skinwalker Ranch?
Billionaire Robert Bigelow bought it in 1996 and ran paranormal research there through his National Institute of Discovery Science (NIDS). He sold it in 2016, and Utah real estate developer Brandon Fugal publicly revealed his ownership in March 2020.
Is there any real evidence of paranormal activity at Skinwalker Ranch?
No verified scientific evidence has ever come out of it. University of Colorado magnetic studies were inconclusive, and skeptic Robert Sheaffer argues the stories were fabricated to build hype, with most accounts amounting to vague feelings of unease rather than anything reproducible.

Okay guys, welcome back to the conspiracy podcast. Say hello. Yo yo, what up, what’s up everybody. We are Sean, Eric and Jorge. That’s right, that’s right. Say Sean first. That’s right, put me, put me in. Wait, it was like put respect on my name. Respect on it. We are here for another episode, glad to have you guys. Yeah, and I’m sorry I just got, I paused, I was looking at Eric’s shirt and I just saw the Unknown Pleasures.

I know, I’m sorry, I don’t know why, I don’t know why that like caught me off guard and I was like, it’s a Joy Division. If you’ve never heard of it, check it out. Never heard of it. It’s a band, they’re not sponsoring us so don’t check it out. They kind of had like a one hit wonder kind of thing in the 80s. Never heard of it. It’s a white person thing. Okay, clearly makes sense, makes sense, clearly. Unknown Pleasures.

So tonight’s episode is on the Skinwalker Ranch. Well this was a VIP patreon request. I’m excited, are you excited? I’m excited, let’s go. And J Boots is the man. J Boots is probably the singular most active human in our Discord. I think he’s like, he’s at the level where we have things like, you type a certain amount, certain amount of time you get a level like up, his level is, he’s like the level 99 boss, God level. Yeah, like literally, yeah, he’s the man, he’s the man. Also he’s sending me some of his own batch. He’s sending us some of it, us. If that Dragon Blood is mine, I know it’s called Dragon Blood. Yeah, it’s like moonshine, it’s like, I think it’s like wine, it’s like moonshine wine. I’m looking forward to it. I was hoping it came in the mail of the day but you know, didn’t. Yeah, we’ll check it out, maybe that come in handy.

So this episode is for J Boots McGillacuddy. As when you reach the VIP status of our patreon you get to fully select your own episode and that is the rich guy status. It’s the like, yeah, the rich guy status is the one you get to select, yeah, that’s right, otherwise sorry. So he selected the Skinwalker Ranch. So here we go guys, all right, yeah, dive on in.

So do you guys know much about Skinwalker Ranch? Nope, nothing. I know a little bit, I know I know a little bit about it and I know it’s technically considered like the Pinnacle of paranormal slash alien activity. Yeah, somewhat UFO, yeah, it’s like everything happens there, it’s in, get into that buddy. All right Eric, take the wheel. I don’t know if you’re going to bring this up later but where is it? That’s, no I don’t, what is it? There’s one that you said that was so good, he said, you for making me do math on, you making me do math.

Okay, in the remote expanse of Northeastern Utah rests a site steeped in enigma, the notorious Skinwalker Ranch. I love that word, enigma. It’s known for its array of unexplained occurrences and this mysterious place has seized the fascination of conspiracy theorists and skeptics and people, what do you call people who are ufologists? Yeah, ufologists. So Skinwalker Ranch is in northeastern Utah and the ranch is approximately 512 acres. That’s pretty big dude, massive, yeah, massive, that’s like land, yeah.

The ranch is situated in a region characterized by completely different terrain so it’s not just one desert. Yeah, so it’s desolate plains, rocky brush covered hills and there’s very little vegetation. The landscape is typical of high desert environment that’s found in northeastern Utah and it has rugged terrain and just all sorts of different conditions throughout the 512 acres. I know it’s like, it’s weird, it’s like probably like dirty cuz you can’t cultivate the land there like nothing, you just like have it. Yeah, well you’re going to, we’ll find out a little bit later how much they paid for it and it’s not very much. Yeah, wasn’t it like, it was like recently bought. Yeah, not for 500 acres, I mean sign me up. I mean I’ll take it, maybe not this, in the middle of nowhere, yeah, middle of the desert, maybe not this one, like another one, the next, the next flat.

So I thought it would be appropriate that we defined what Skinwalker means because most people don’t actually know and I didn’t know. And so the Navajo people which is an Indian people, I’m pretty sure everyone knows that, I’m just saying, a Native American people known as the Navajo, they had a unique concept known a skinwalker and expressed in their language as Yushi meaning with it, the animal skin, he goes on all fours. Skin Walkers can be either male or female and they’re often linked with trickster animals like the coyote or creatures symbolizing death and misfortune like a vulture.

Well that’s interesting. There’s this gate at the entrance there, it’s like big sign that says private property and there’s like a wolf, that’s like a wolf, right? It’s a space, space wolf research and it’s like a pyr, it’s like, yeah there you go, yeah, love it, that’s new too for tourism. Yeah they just put it up there like space research, doesn’t, money out of this. Skin Walkers, yeah, space Research LLC. So they’re linked with you know, I mean coyotes and wolves and things like that are kind of deathly creatures or mischievous. Yeah, they’re coming into the hen house in secret, you’re always seeing them with their beady eyes and their light up, you know, it’s kind of like a dark, yeah it’s ominous, like predator, predator species. It’s not like a bunny rabbit, no, yeah, well clearly. Maybe, maybe, maybe it should be like a beaver, should be added to that cuz we did, beavers are wild, I know, beavers, territorial as in our last episode, go back and listen, yeah, come bite your arm off.

So they possess these Skin Walkers in the Navajo legend, they possess the ability to transform into any animal by donning its skin. Navajo tradition prohibits wearing predator animal skins due to this association. Oh cuz they’re like, God damn it, so these are Skin Walkers, you can’t do that, does that make sense? I think maybe they were just like, you know, like they’re on like ayahuasca and they’re like, I am a, what’s, what’s ayahuasca? Ayahuasca is like a hardcore hallucinogen, oh wow, is it like mushrooms? Way more intense, okay, it’s like you know like, peyote, you know like the Indians, like ayahuasca is actually a brew, oh yeah, and it’s like a drink, oh you drink it, okay, yeah, and then like a drug soup, yeah it’s just like you know the Indians, the Indian people are very well known for that kind of, like you know ayahuasca, peyote, you got to do it inside the tent while it’s like smoking.

Well they get in the, the tent’s a whole another thing where like they’ll be in this tent over hot coals and like literally sweat their body out to the point of like hallucinate, like hardcore hallucination cuz they’re like so dehydrated, like the break of death. And you’re like, last time I went to the gym the sauna I was, someone’s like sir, sir are you okay, he’s like don’t touch me, he’s like, he’s like I’m a skin walker, I’m all it right now, like Nirvana’s on the C.

So famed for their swiftness, Skin Walkers are believed to have the power to possess individuals simply by making eye contact with them. Despite possessing knowledge of rituals and spells like Navajo medicine men, skinwalkers employ their expertise for nefarious purposes unlike their benevolent counterparts. Basically so the nice animals, yeah, or it’s like the nice beings that are like the ones who are like shape shifters in essence. So according to Navajo lore individuals become Skin Walkers by having committed heinous acts of killing their own family members. Wow, so it’s like you can only get this curse like a, yes, I was like, you only get this dope ass power by like being a piece of, so you kill your brother, they’re like now you can change into world skiner for, yeah, you become a Skinwalker, but they make it seem like it’s like a bad thing, that seems kind of tits, I’d love to like be able to skin walk. It’s kind of like a scary story, like a scary like warning, warning story, a tale, yeah yeah.

Skinwalkers are notoriously challenging to defeat. Navajo tradition advises enlisting the aid of a shaman who’s well-versed in that magic to counteract a skinwalker malevolent deeds through specific rituals and spells. And some also believe that skinwalkers can be killed with bullets that are coated in white ash but only if the shots are precisely aimed at the head or the neck.

Only with white ash can you kill them, with a head shot, trust. See I told you, I told you it kills him, don’t go for the forehead, we, clearly bullets cannot penetrate forehead, we all know this. But also see it’s so funny, the ancient economy is like you know what are you going to do, be a shaman? No, I’m going to make a killing off of making people believe that they’re like skin walker. This is cayenne pepper, be two good pieces my friend.

In Navajo culture the skin walker embodies pure evil representing anything abhorrent to their beliefs. Okay so maybe that’s more or less the motif is like evil, bad, skin walker bad, ranch evil, ranch evil. Interestingly enough discussion of skinwalkers among the Navajo is typically avoided particularly in the presence of non-native individuals, meaning they don’t really talk about it. Insiders only, yeah yeah. It is believed that uttering the name or acknowledging its existence may summon its presence. Oh there’s scalp you, so like he who shouldn’t be named, I know that’s, it’s like, you’re sitting with your Navajo folk and you’re like don’t, don’t say it, don’t, don’t shut, don’t, it’s kind of like us with the 2020 situation, yeah, 2020, 2020 happening, The Happening, do not mention it.

Similar things are Beetlejuice, Candyman, oh yeah Candyman I forgot, these are all these stories, don’t even say, don’t say the name, don’t even say it, or if you do then it becomes, then they’re, then they’re like, maybe this is like all like, maybe there’s some truth, skin walker right? So the portrayal of Skin Walkers by non Navajo such as in horror movies are completely different than the Navajo culture. For the Navajo, tales of Skinwalker serve as cautionary stories imparting moral lessons to children etc, but in non Navajo stories it’s just horror, evil and murderous.

I mean you think it’s like human slash animal, yeah it’s like a werewolf, yeah right right yeah exactly, you know or like watch True Blood, there’s like, shi nutrition and werewolves too. Leave it to Hollywood to just butcher the original story, they’re like no, but here, they’re like look at the you know this ancient, no, that they’re like Michael Bay explosions, although if they did a good job it would be a good horror movie, Skin Walkers, that, yeah I mean there’s got to be episodes out there, X Files episode, when I hear skin walker I’m thinking like being like, transforming into a different like person, yeah I’m thinking like, scan like, me too, but I mean in this they can transform a bit, not a whole lot but a bit, a bit, yeah like they’re like he’s like very small, make it bigger.

I was just looking up if there was any movies or whatever, of course guess what, the History Channel did a whole thing, 18 part series on skin. So I do have to say, and if you know me, one of my things that I hate the most is the History Channel turned history into reality shows, oh yeah for sure. And so I did watch some of this stuff on Netflix and it’s called Skinwalker Ranch whatever and it was like five seasons of pure annoying. And it’s real but it’s like shot in like point of view and they’re like, yes, and no offense to these guys, did you see that the camera’s like, there’s like six episodes of specialists arriving on airplanes and they’re like you know we’re just going to look it out and we’re going to see what’s going on and nothing happens, actually 6 hours, next season.

I just found, there is a movie, Skinwalker 2021 it came out, checking it out here on IMDB, okay what’s the score, 3.5, damn that’s pretty low, yikers, got a Rotten Tomato score of -2, pretty low, put that on my, can you send to me, I need to watch it, I’m gonna need that, unless we have to pay, no, free streaming only, well then again I mean I’m like Eric, rent it for me on Amazon Prime, I’ll cash app you, cash at me the $3.

Over the top for you guys, don’t know Eric made me, well he didn’t make me, he implored me to watch Over the Top which is a old school movie with Sylvester Stallone where he’s a professional arm wrestler, and then he cash at me 99 cents so I could, you ever tell somebody to watch a movie and they’re like well maybe I won’t, well you’re like well, and I was like you know what if I send him $2.99 I feel like he will watch it, well the thing is like he, it’s the worst movie ever and I’m like okay should I watch it, you should check it out cuz he do his thing where he’s like, like a lever, it’s like a lever when I turn my hat, when I turn my hat around the lever’s on, it’s so hilarious, it’s worth it, it’s actually it’s one of my favorites, I loved it, I loved it cuz it’s so bad, I love, we digress.

Anyway skin walker Ranch back, sorry. So originally known as Sherman Ranch, this land gained notoriety in the 90s due to a series of bizarre events reported by its owners the Sherman family. In addition to unexplained phenomena such as strange lights in the sky and mysterious creatures lurking in the shadows, the Shermans also experienced cattle mutilations and poltergeist like activity within their own home. Oh shit’s moving around, okay, see like that kind of stuff is terrifying, if like some stuff like that happened, like we’re moving, this house selling it, I’ll pretend that everything’s good, I’ll put a nice face on.

Keep in mind you’re living, you’re in 500 acres and that’s, but it’s also it’s like, it’d be different if it was in the woods, I’ll be like okay I can understand, but in the desert you see for miles and you’re like, you’re not 10 minutes from Tampa, no no yeah, like you have like next door neighbors, there’s like a Southwest flight coming in, what are those flights, yeah. So these unsettling occurrences caught the attention of the broader paranormal community eventually leading to investigations by renowned researchers and organizations. In ’96 the ranch garnered the interest of billionaire entrepreneur Robert Bigelow who purchased it and established the National Institute of Discovery Science also known as the NIDS. I love that, God, it’s like a billionaire, he’s like yeah, it, I know, it, buy it, why not, I have nothing else to do.

I went on a rant the other day about how billionaires don’t do their part, oh, with us, you were ranting with you, yeah yeah for a little bit, I think it was on the news episode, yeah, and maybe maybe I went in going in in my head like further, I was just like, oh it was via the text we were talking about, I’m just going to throw this out here, I’m going to go on the, super 18th digression, yeah I’m sorry I’m sorry. Okay you’re a billionaire, you have a billion dollars, let’s just say you have two, okay you have two, well a billionaire multiple billion, yeah I mean you don’t want to be the one you barely made it, it’s all asset like, we at two, okay you’re not the top you’re not the bottom, sure you got two, okay, what are these people doing, what do they do like day, what do they do with their money, they’re not helping.

I’m talking about not what I would, okay of course I would, Bezos sit up and yeah I’d look ripped now, 10, I look so different, Bugattis all that stuff, but that’s half of a half of a half of a half of a percent, it’s like 0%, what else are they doing dude, I saw do you see that the one real, to spend their money, no, to help to do something, meanwhile no offense to Musk, no offense to Musk, he buys Twitter, hey that was probably mean, no offense to us, like probably a smart play business wise because he’s buying media and protecting free speak and I understand that, but is that the biggest effect that you could make with $50 billion, of course you could make, well that’s a bad person.

Mr Beast, let me go about Mr Beast here, you ready, Mr Beast, yes, okay what about Mr Beast, he will give out to five people who will stick in a room and who can only play with their butt and you know you get a million dollars for laying there for 200 days, yeah what the are we doing, but do you know about his philanthropic, but it’s so it must be so small that I don’t know about it, it’s not, he doesn’t promote it on his main channel but he has a whole another channel where he raises money only to give away food, people, now he only raises money, that’s not his money, yeah, that’s how he makes money, that’s how every billionaire makes money, it’s not their money, they take it from someone else by selling.

Do you know how much a billion dollars is? It’s so, you could do so much more. Here was my other point to Eric, they don’t, these billionaires are not like making a billion dollars in 2023, it’s like they don’t have this cash, I know they’re making hundreds of millions, okay sure yeah, some make billions, I mean who makes a billion dollar like income cash in a year, dude there was a, yeah, he doesn’t make a billion dollars in a year, TNT in Mexico, what’s that guy say, what, Slim, is corrupt, no of course he is, he’s in Mexico, exactly. I just get what you’re saying, I feel like not one billionaire made a billion or worth a billion made a billion that if, if you could show me what I would like is, I just feel like they could do more.

I feel like one of the things, what would we do more like actually be like, what’s the biggest problem that you see right now in the US, I feel like most of the billionaires, no one second, most feel like most of the billionaires are, they’ll do like PR play type stuff, yeah, and then because I sent you that Reel with Bill Gates, I thought it was hilarious, and they’re like so Bill you know you’re always like harping about this you know this green anything, like what are you doing you know to stop like global warming stuff, he’s like, and he’s talking about, he’s like you use like x amount of like thousand gallons of like for your jet cost and what are you doing to like make a difference, he’s like well you know I go out and I spend $15 million a year sourcing green green jet fuel, and I’m like what, like that literally does not exist, there is no such thing.

It just seems like they’re all, all they’re doing is holding on to their money or making it so their money doesn’t go away, which I understand I would do the same, yeah, you want to just give it to the, I would do the same, he’s not talking, if I’m five billion deep, Billy Billy Billy yeah, he’s talking about like helping people, so many things, but to your point he would over, we get a letter in the mail that the corporation’s been dissolved, dude you’d only speak to my lawyer, if you’re text, know we get like served like sue us, like what, sorry Eric’s off grid now.

No but you were trying to say like okay there’s a whole bunch of problems here, the homeless, food, any kind of these big humanitarian kind of problems and I get that, but why is the government not helping, cuz the government doesn’t give a, I know, but at some point, I know, some point he has such influence, he or she or whatever, I don’t know who we’re talking about specifically but they have such influence that I just feel like, like Jordan, what about him, where you at, the goat, how much money is he worth, he’s more, couple billion, how much money you think he makes a year, like four 500 million on cash, and he doesn’t, are doing literally nothing, I’m just living surviving, maybe he’s doing some cool stuff in Charlotte right, probably, I don’t know, maybe renovating a school doing a couple things, but the amount of his wealth is so small, it’s like a million dollar compared to, he’s making a 100 million a year in cash, more more, about 500, I’m just saying, yeah we live in a weird place.

I’m just saying like look, if a billionaire wants to help me out like, Eric help me, just to prove, here’s what I would do, is there’s two ways I would go about it, one is you could pick one thing and you could be like that’s my problem I’m to try to solve it, and maybe it’s the ocean, you go you know what there’s too much pollution in the ocean, I’m going to put all my efforts into figuring it out and solving it, putting all this money into it, and I’m going to solve that problem for humanity or whatever. I was going to say the wrong example that you chose, like he’s done a lot, with the whole, I mean just electric cars that, yeah but like he’s not doing a lot for like the African Libya miners, I know you can always pick something, I’m just saying he’s done a lot for humanity for the planet, like moving us forward.

I always get suspect though when his ambitions are to benefit him, well they’re all, their ambitions are to going to benefit them, yeah, well no that’s the whole point of trying to solve problems that are not money related, yeah but dude it’s not to benefit you, maybe maybe you could do both, and in just term I don’t actually buy into the whole electric cars save the world thing, what about SpaceX I’m totally, what about the satellite thing, I mean sure that’s cool I don’t think that saves humanity, I don’t even use PayPal’s talking, at nobody uses, never use, I know it’s a front, I don’t know who uses it or how they make money, I’ve tried, I have $18 in PayPal I can’t get out, I verify some with the tax, 18 authorization code, still worth a billion dollars that company, sure, what about his boring company, no I’m just kid, anyways, well sorry we’ll edit this down to not be 17 minutes, I just hate it, I get so mad about it, we’re not billionaires, true, I’m sure I would fight it tooth and, this what I’m doing is 100 grand, not good enough for you then don’t take it, I know it’s like it’s free, anyways.

So what we were talking about was this billionaire decided that he was going to buy Skinwalker Ranch and turn it into a National Institute for Discovery Science and his goal was to conduct scientific research into the paranormal. Discovery baby. So under Bigelow’s ownership Skinwalker Ranch became a focal point for a wide range of investigations including bringing scientists in, military personnel, ufologists, all these different people, you know I feel like that’s what I would do if I got rich, I just be a ufologist, 100%, I would just be like, travel around looking up, yeah.

So here’s a little story about Skinwalker Ranch, it’s a chilling account from Skinwalker Ranch, a former security guard, oh yeah billionaire so course there was security, so this story though for privacy reasons we just can only call him John Doe, it’s like copyright. John’s tenure at the ranch was marked by eerie encounters that would haunt him for years to come. During one particularly eerie night John reported seeing strange lights dancing across the sky, their movements defied the laws of physics. I believe it. As he patrolled the perimeter of the ranch he felt an overwhelming sense of unease as if unseen eyes were watching every move.

Suddenly John heard an unearthly howl emanating from the darkness beyond the ranch’s borders. Frozen with fear he strained his eyes to discern the source of the sound but all he could see were shadows lurking in the moonlight. Moments later John’s radio crackled to life with a frantic message from his fellow guard stationed at the opposite of the ranch. His colleague reported witnessing a towering figure with glowing red eyes lurking near the tree line, its presence was primal terror for this guy, primal terrified, but determined to investigate John cautiously approached the area described by his colleague.

As he drew closer he felt a wave of intense dread wash over him as if an invisible force sought to repel him from the sight. Despite this intrepidation John pressed on only to be met with an overwhelming sense of foreboding that compelled him to retreat. To this day he remains haunted by the memory of that fateful night and he continues to talk about it as a, God, I’m sorry but the whole time you’re saying that, what was going through my mind was like, Hall and Oates, Private Eyes, they’re watching you, they’re watching your every.

Now here’s the problem with this story, is the only thing that happens in this story like four times is it’s just a sense of things, a sense of unease, like it was all, these are all things, it seems also like a sense, like an intangible, yeah, and obviously like scientific method say it’s like, it has to be like something that’s like, I know, reproducible, like observable exactly, so I mean I guess sixth sense, the only thing that is of actual evidence is a howl, true, and the red eyes, and I’m not going to deny that, like you cuz we’ve all experienced that where like you have a feeling and there’s something and like you know and there uneasy, yeah, like someone’s coming up behind you and you’re like you’re like some shit’s going down, so I’m not going to say that that’s not true but it’s a little loose, exactly, especially when it’s a sense of foreboding, frozen with fear, overwhelming sense of unease, he’s also in the middle of the desert, he’s probably like, we don’t know if this guy is like having like liquor withdrawals, yeah, he could have been dehydrated, overwhelming sting, yeah, he could have been dehydrated, who knows, anyways there you go, that’s a little story there.

So a couple things on the ownership of the property right, from 1934 to ’94 Kenneth and Edith Myers own Skinwalker Ranch, following their ownership the Shermans took over from 94 to 96, then from 96 to 2016 Bigelow the billionaire owned the ranch. In 2016 Bigelow sold skin walker ranch to a LLC called adamantium real estate, yeah I’m already into them, this is good, please define adamantium, adamantium is a fictitious metal that literally, it’s from Marvel Comics, it’s now they call it, so it’s funny because now it’s called vibranium because obviously in the beginning, Sony, no Sony owned the rights to X-Men and they were calling it adamantium but then they were making all these other movies that were using the same metal that came from an asteroid and they couldn’t say adamantium because it was owned by Sony so they had to call it vibranium, and then now Marvel owns X-Men so they have to stick with vibranium, they can’t change it now, they’re like, so now it’s a metal that came from outer space that in Wolverine’s, yeah it’s what Wolverine’s made out, Wolverine claws, it’s what Captain America shield is made out of right, it’s what allowed Wakanda to be so technologically advanced, oh man we should do like a Marvel deep dive with Sean, dude I’m such a weirdo, like dude I literally be 2 a.m. and I’m like literally on like Marvel wiki, like what the like where the this come from.

So okay so I just laughed really hard by myself when I was reading that LLC bought this, I know it’s like really though, I’m sure like they own one property, it’s just going to walk, only, can you imagine having the conversation, what do we call this, adamantium, why is there so many syllables, adamantium, so great. Okay so in 2016 Bigelow sold the ranch, yeah, do you know what he sold it for, does, 500,000, oh that’s it, that’s it, 512 acres, wow, 2016, that’s a thousand bucks an acre, yeah yeah, that’s why I say it’s pretty cheap, there might be gold in that, yeah, how much did he pay, we don’t know that, he originally, oh I don’t know, yeah I don’t know, good question, probably 500k, exactly, I will give it to you for exactly what I, nothing to do, I brought my research team here, nothing happened, yeah yeah.

After the purchase security measures were increased including blocked roads, guarded perimeters, surveillance cameras and warning signs to deter unauthorized visitors including that sign that you just pulled up, we’ll put it on patreon, yeah. So adamantium real estate is based in Salt Lake City, it obtained the trademark in 2017 for Skinwalker Ranch, I would, yeah, I was going to ask like why they keep calling it that but it makes sense it’s like name recognition, yeah yeah yeah. So it also allowed for the provision of recreation facilities and entertainment services so if you wanted to make a movie, do a shop. In 2022 they expanded the trademark to include cups, mugs, t-shirts and hats, of course, sweet merch, which is what we got to do, I know we need cups, koozies like socks, I want the whole spiel.

In March of 2020 Brandon Fugal, a Utah real estate tycoon, announced his ownership in the ranch. I love it, I love everyone’s like I got to have a piece, I know everybody thought it was a good idea, I know they like, and they really probably bought it like I want to experience some weird stuff, I know, I just want to. In 2022 Fugal partnered with the Hutchings Museum Institute in Utah aiming to explore the environmental and historical significance of Skinwalker Ranch. So yeah, and it’s funny because like I understand, trust me I would go if I had a chance, I’d go to see what all the hype is, but like my thing is, I feel like hunting, if there was like extraterrestrial activity, like don’t you think they would just be, oh they keep, all these people keep trying to see, let’s just move right, let’s just go to some other place in Utah, like why do they have to stay, no we can only go to the ranch, it’s the only place, you know they would just leave.

I would build like 17 teepees and make it a big Airbnb, yes, ooh that’s a good idea, or maybe it’s like built on a Indian burial ground, so maybe that’s why it’s like, I mean when you get the Navajo in there with these stories it’s a little scary, yeah. So government interest in Skinwalker Ranch adds another layer of complexity, some theorists speculate that government agencies such as the CIA or the DOD which is the Department of Defense have maintained a vested interest in the ranch due to its paranormal activity. Allegations of government funded research projects and attempts to conceal evidence of ETs or interdimensional phenomena further fuel suspicions of collusion and coverups.

Yeah I can see, I can see like you know that probably be a sweet place to like test some stuff, you know advanced craft, 100 acres, and yeah find in middle of desert like no one’s here in Utah, like who’s going to believe anyone here, like be FL several other, but you don’t think it’s like another Area 51, oh no no right, I feel like, well Area 51 is different cuz I feel like Area 51 they actually have stuff there, yeah yeah yeah, so it’s not like shit’s happening above, they’re like don’t come in, true, don’t look don’t look. Also I just thought about it, no cuz a lot of people are going there to visit it every year, oh it’ll never, it’s forever, no like to this ranch, like you can go and you can camp there, oh I don’t know that, yeah, oh you can go on the property, well there’s a bunch of, there’s a bunch of sneak on, there’s a bunch of reviews on Google, Skinwalker Ranch Hotel, trademark trademark, we have the trademark, people saying like yeah I stayed the night it was crazy blah blah blah, really, yeah.

But I feel like it, I’m sorry but like it is true like, well no it’s like when you think something’s going to happen you start hearing stuff like, if you watch a scary movie and you’re in the house you’re, what the, that sound, like something’s here, we talk about that a lot, so if we went like, if we went to Lochness, oh for sure I’d be like what’s up, a snake, a serpent, a dinosaur, yeah, so you know I’m pretty sure we saw that one too with the elephants, the elephant sounds so legit, didn’t we solve that, I’m pretty sure we solved that, at first when you said elephants I was like, you, and then I was like oh, elephants can swim water, it’s a trunk, yeah it’s just a trunk, it’s genius, so if you guys haven’t listened to the Lochness episode go ahead cuz we solved that mystery, it’s one of our few solve, we solved three, yeah we solved a couple, we thought we solved Tupac’s murder but then, oh I think we did, no no we did, oh we did, we had we went back on that, no we didn’t, no we didn’t, no we saw, where have you been, I mean you got to jump back on the Discord, that’s, I, it’s not caught up historian, no idea.

So there’s other theories too that are, you know there’s no evidence again but there’s a lot, which are about energy vortexes, lost civilizations and warp tunnels, and I mean these series are very complex, yes, there’s all sorts of stuff you could go on a tangent about what could be there. And then I saw a light and it was like there and then I jumped in and then I was five, wow yeah, all sorts of, well Reddit, you know the most trustworthy place on the planet, I know they’re public traded now, I know dude, I think they crush it in their IPO, yeah but it’s dumb, no now they’re getting crushed, oh going down, no well they smash and then they smash, yeah they’re like pump and dump exactly, pump and dump all the Wall Street bets pumping, ding me.

So there was a bunch of quote unquote scientific investigations, and they went in there with instruments, methodologies to try to measure these anomalies, like phenomena yeah, and they tried to measure electromagnetic pulses, you know some sort like strange, what’s that noise, oh let’s see if it’s not an animal, well see yeah, that’s why I always, another thing too on this, if there was some phenomena like that happening what makes you think that we’re going to be able to detect it on our type of equipment, if there’s some interdimensional thing, which I’m not saying is impossible, totally possible yeah, but like how are you going to be like oh well I pulled out the spectrometer and it didn’t detect, there are some recorded things where there were anomalies I guess you would call them, but they could have been an animal making a weird noise, have you ever, noise like anomaly, yeah like an example, a similar thing was I went to the Bigfoot Museum, I know, you cuz I’m awesome, hanging out with me is a great time, so where is it, California, Northern Georgia, oh it was in Georgia, Northern Georgia yeah, and it’s pretty much the biggest big foot museum that exists in the world, yeah, it’s really expensive like $39.99, oh wow I would not, I’m not that interested, the one with the most evidence, so you walk in it’s actually like, I would say go do it it’s worth it, oh okay, but what they do have when you walk in they have these listening stations because they have hundreds of hours of recordings, oh like audio, of audio, strange, yeah, no and you listen to it and you’re like what the is that, and it’s me, I just did it, but they have weird like noises like, and like weird, I hope I didn’t ruin somebody’s ear drums, oh someone just crashed, just really strange noises, and so that’s the idea is very similar where it’s, this is an anomaly we don’t know what it is, that’s about as far as it goes, totally.

Some studies have shed light on the phenomena observed at Skinwalker Ranch. One study conducted by a team of scientists from the University of Colorado sought to investigate reports of unusual magnetic anomalies. So using magnetometers and other specialized equipment the researchers collected data over several months hoping to detect anomalous magnetic fields that could not be explained by natural causes. Their findings were inconclusive, they acknowledged the need for further research to determine the cause of the magnetic anomalies. So okay yeah for sure, and I believe there’s, I’m telling there’s you know some weird, there’s weird stuff in nature dude, I’m saying there’s some weird stuff in the woods, yeah, we only know you know a fraction of what’s actually going on on Earth, we barely scratch the goddamn surface of space and all the things that happen, solar wind and like these you know, we have, people forget to realize but you know our Earth has created its own magnetic field, our own magnetic force field around the planet, like how is that happening, how is that possible, literally creates, we have a little legit magnetic force field protecting us from dying, it’s awesome at all times, it’s so, explain like riddle me that, I’m saying Batman.

So a couple more stories right, one such account comes from a former ranch hand who reported witnessing a series of bizarre events during his time on the property. According to testimony he observed strange symbols etched into the ground near the ranch house, oh cool, mysterious footprints that appeared overnight without any explanation, he claimed to also have seen shadowy figures lurking in the darkness beyond the property line, and again evoking sense of fear and unease, I love the foreboding, did he, were these like human footprints kind of footprint, I know I was thinking that too, yeah, human footprints, oh okay, but it’s just like probably be really easy, you got rob, another story, my wallet was missing, I’m not like this phenomena.

Another strange story comes from a local resident who reported hearing strange noises emanating from the direction of the ranch late at night. According to her account the noises sounded like a combination of animal cries and electronic buzzing filling her with an overwhelming sense of dread and foreboding. Maybe there’s a thing, maybe some, what if there was one of two things, it’s like there’s some dudes in the military, they’re testing some non-lethal weapon, like hitting them, they’re like, like people like shit’s going to happen like this, but she went out into the woods to investigate, found nothing, yeah, well I could have predicted that, yeah pretty brave.

So there you go some stories. Also there is just the other side of this cuz you know you like to take, flip flop. There’s a guy named Robert Sheaffer, so Robert Sheaffer dismisses the phenomena at Skinwalker Ranch as likely, ucer elcer, thank you, citing lack of evidence found by the science group, that science gang yeah, that all after years of monitoring and the testimony of previous owners he reported there was no actual evidence for supernatural events. Sheaffer suggests that the Sherman family may have fabricated the stories before selling the property to Robert Bigelow who then fabricated more stories and built it up to then sell it. Yeah you wouldn’t believe the stuff was going on, all my science guys found stuff, I can’t disclose what they found yet, you got to buy it first, trust me, shake my hand, shake my. So you know anyways these are just people who say you know that’s, I feel like this is the greatest PR stunt like in the history, makeup, they just like revved it up so hard people are like, hell yeah.

So here are some conspiracy theories about Skinwalker Ranch, they are all over the map just to heads up, they’re insane, yeah I mean they’re just, I don’t want to use the word insane, they’re just so different, outlandish, yeah they’re so different, they’re all like you know across the, yeah it would be like if we did JFK and at the end it was like a rabbit came across and had a bomb strapped on his head and then killed him a little, but also was it Lee, it was an insect, an insect with a bomb blew up in his head, they’re a little wild, yeah, one of those program bees, you ever, no what’s program bee, yeah they like programmed, a little bee with a little like programmed to like go to find Eric and kill him, yeah just like stab him in the dick, oh dick joke, oh yep there’s one, there one of our quota.

So one of the most prominent theories suggests that the ranch sits atop a hotspot of interdimensional activity, serving as a portal for beings from other realms to enter our realm. This theory is often cited by ufologists and paranormal enthusiasts who believe that the ranch’s remote location, bizarre phenomenon and stories make it an ideal perfect candidate for interdimensional warpage. But how the are they like oh this is ideal, the stories I felt scared, and oh I was scared shitless, everybody is worried about foreboding, I know I, foreboding, they’re all, is going to bode for me, no but I’m saying like it’s not like people saw beings or saw like, well guys with the eyes yeah, shadowy figures, oh you see a shadowy figure, interdimensional being at night the darkest desert, some dude was like walking on the sidewalk behind me it was like dark I’m like interdimensional, it’s like this’s a hotspot for portals.

So but what’s weird is that I understand the skinwalker part, that’s, I’m down for that, like I’m like why are they talking about this, red eyes maybe like an animal weird like animal human, you know some Navajos, and then you know who knows, I would be in for that theory yeah, this interdimensional thing, where do they, there’s no evidence of interdimensional travel or anything like, oh I found a portal or like I found like a weird, even a opening in the rock that might have been a, there’s nothing there, a hole, I found a hole, dimensional, I don’t know, that’s the thing about aliens they don’t leave evidence behind, they definitely don’t, they definitely don’t, stupid, they leave zero evidence, they’re crazy, they’re crazy, they’re like, so you just got to take people, Zodiac bro, they just, no they still, who did it, no idea who did it, anyways so there you go, that’s interdimensional portals and thing.

The other conspiracy theory is that it’s the site of secret government experiments, now now you got me, now you’re speaking my language. So they point to alleged sightings of military aircraft, lights in the sky, unmarked vehicles on the ranch, agents coming in on covert operations, these all hearsay of course, they argue that the government’s interest in the ranch extends beyond mere curiosity and may involve classified research into exotic propulsion systems and cutting edge tech. See this makes the most sense to me because it’s so far it’s perfect, it’s actually not perfect for dimensional beings, it’s perfect for the government cover up, everyone already think, everyone who’s going there believes that it’s otherworldly stuff happening, so they’re like great let’s fly some planes over, so like if they go there and they do some weird stuff nobody’s going to bat an eye cuz that’s what happens here.

I’m telling you like, when I maybe 20 years ago I was looking into all these weapons they were developing that were non-lethal weapon and like dude they can do crazy microwave guns, like all this cool stuff, it’s not cool, but I’m thinking like what if it’s like a gun with like a burrito’s there and like, it, no I’m saying this is like a, no it would literally, I don’t know if you know what a microwave does, like so microwave cooks your food because it pretty much causes the water molecules to vibrate together and it creates friction which then causes them heat and that’s what is, there radiation involved or no, not really, no, it’s a different type of it’s a different, it’s not like radiation, radiation is pretty much when an element is like breaking, atomic structure, is that’s what they call like term half-life, so any radioactive element is unstable so it means like literal atoms are breaking apart and like flying off, and so that’s what radiation does to you, like random spare atoms are hitting you and they’re actually causing your cells and your DNA to actually break apart, gotcha gotcha.

So wasn’t there like an urban legend about if you stand in front of the microwave, yeah you ever heard that, it remains that one in urban, yeah don’t stand in front of the microwave, it’s so true, it’s still like you’re going to get, you’re going to get, I don’t know, I just got schooled by Sean, I’m learning something new, it’s not like great, like if you just put your head in the microwave for an, like yeah it’s not good no, but I mean stand, can I stand in front of it when I’m cooking a bre, I dude I stood in front of it for 2 and a half minutes while the popcorn was cooking I don’t know why, I’m like looking at like pop faster, come on, no but I think it’s perfect if they a weapon, if they could develop some sort of weapon that you know causes some sort of fear or literally like anxiety paralysis due to that, like how amazement, you got a SEAL Team coming in, you got some armed guards, you freeze these up, like oh we’re, yeah that’d be, I mean if they could create something like that, some sort of wave that like you know obviously vibrations and wavelengths do weird things, they created a weapon that made you fearing foreboding, that’s what foreboding is, I know fearing, fearing the fear, fearing the foreboding of the fear, no I get what you’re saying though, I get you’re saying that to me, I’m down now.

But quick question, why doesn’t the government just buy their own land, why would they want to spend, well because this is the perfect cover up, this is like the, well no they need to test it on people, wild, test wild in itself exactly, it’s kind of like hiding in plain truth or plain sight or whatever you know, it’s like bringing aliens to UF Area 51, well it’s also like cuz you’re like, well it’s Area 51, reason they’re not buying it like, we just, the government just got bailed out again from another shut down so it’s clearly they don’t have the money, the finance guys are like all off the rails, the fin guys are talking to the tech guys like that money already got spent like real fast, maybe that’s why they don’t have money, they’re just spending on Skinwalker Ranch yeah sure, approve, budget approved, we need 17 billion for the new microwave project, hey Johnny how’s the microwave gun going, I like, they’re foreboding is down there, yes it’s working, and they’re like another check for foreboding, perfect Johnny I want you to get half the population foreboding, I know they’re like just crank up the foreboding a little bit more, all right.

And then the last conspiracy that I got here is ancient civilizations or lost civilizations, there’s clues there, what are the clues, well it predates recorded history and they’ve left artifacts that have energy sources and div like vibranium, they defy conventional explanation in our current tests and our abilities, so basically the theory is that an ancient civilization lived there, yeah yeah, and then they had their tech, yeah like imagine if for example imagine we had nukes and then our civilization died and then 10,000 years from now those nukes are buried in Denver Airport, yeah, and then somebody stumbles upon it and they’re like this place is haunted bro, and there’s like radiation seeping out of the ground every time I walk by, I, it’s sick as, I know Timmy died last week, what has, I know, and he was foreboding, he was foreboding.

So that’s the other theory, is that ancient civilization left tech behind and there you go. I mean I’d love that idea, I’ve been really on the ancient civilization thing and like ancient technology, but like there’s literally not like a, it’s not like some dude found some weird piece of metal or anything, yeah, the only thing that does support that that I will jump a little bit on your side on, there are the engineering feats that they must have had technology to build, like there’s channels and canal or like shoots in the pyramids that you’re like how the did you build, dude so that lens, there’s something that was left behind where you go oh it’s, five years of hard work and me and chipping away at the foundation finally getting them over the dark side, yeah, so but I’m just saying that does lend to going they must have had a tool or something that maybe they left behind, I don’t know.

Well trust me I’m going to go so, like we, I’m not going to up pyramids again, I’m going to go so deep, I’m going to come in my PJs and just, I might take off work on that Friday and it’s like 2:00 p.m. to midnight we’re done, it would be crazy to do like a 10 hour like, and then like 700 melatonins later like, like she like, so there you go that’s Skinwalker Ranch, there’s a lot more anecdotal stories that I didn’t include and that’s because there’s there’s 50 and you know I want to hear Jorge’s take.

Yeah so what do you think Skinwalker Ranch? Skinwalker Ranch I think that I mean out of everything that we just heard, like the one that makes the most sense is the second one and it’s just more of like the government involvement. But before that, before they got involved, there’s probably I don’t know something going on, like I definitely not aliens, definitely not, no no, lights in the sky, lights in the sky there was only one, there was one dude said that exact, it was like one homie was like I saw something, yeah, so I don’t know I think it’s just more of like what you were saying like anecdotal, how do you say that, an anecdotal, anecdotal, whatever just kind of stories of like the Navajo going back to that and that’s it, that’s it, and then but in present time I do believe that there’s some sort of government program taken over there.

See okay all roads lead to the government, they’re behind it. Really, well you realize, you know how many people the government employs, no I don’t, no dude, give it to these, so the federal government has 2.2 million full-time employees, ooh big boy, yeah, Fortune 500, 2.2 million full-time employees, and how much money, what’s their expenditures per year, it’s like 5 trillion a year in like outgoing money, and if it’s more than that we just print it, yeah, and they’re like oh, debt securities, ETFs and bonds, I’m just saying like yeah they’re busy because they have 2.2 million people that we know of that are working, true true, and that doesn’t even include, that’s just the federal government, we’re not talking about military right, that’s a whole another side quest, like so anyways.

So where so that’s where you’re at, and I want to say one other thing like, for a slight second there I was thinking leaning towards the side of, on the way over there on the spectrum of like the Stargate and the portals, yes it sounds cool it sounds, I wish that, I hope that’s true, could be possible cuz like I was saying you’re not going to have any evidence, he’s seen Kurt Russell and Stargate exactly, I love it, I love that movie, I got to do a rewatch, class, I think it holds up, and then they did SG1, oh dude right yeah, that still holds up too yeah, anyways, okay for a little bit but I got away from that, and I think it might be you know it might even be like if we’re just really going to do it, it’s probably on an Indian burial ground dude and people just get in weird spirits and they feel like cuz the Indians are you took our land we hate you, I like that, yeah so that’s totally that’s probably what’s going on, yeah, it’s probably like the Indian people are like, yeah, so yeah.

So what about you Eric? So what about like the red eyes and yeah, they a squirrel bro, pumped up squirrel, I have convinced myself I have seen like, trust me if you look into the dark long enough you’ll start putting some there, you’ll start creating some, I agree with you on that, yeah, was that a move, oh I saw some move, and especially you’re in like it’s pitch black in the desert, oh my God, no light, I know any little sound is like amplified, oh echoes and, oh you’re terrified, and you’re already freaked out cuz you’re at Skinwalker ranch so you’re like, I mean the name skin walker is pretty disgusting, I hate, it’s gross, pretty scary.

All you my take, my take, absolutely 100%, 100%, 100%, I couldn’t be more on the side of this is absolute fabricated stuff just for attention, what like a wolf came out, yeah, but just people are just building themselves up into like a, like I’m scared, yeah, and nothing else, dude people could be to build up the real estate value, you got, dude you know homie was on to something, Mr billionaire was like so Area 51 you have some semblance of proof, well Area 51 is also a military base, also super, we have no evidence of anything, this is no evidence at all anything, and it’s almost a cash grab with the merchandising, the trademarks, the Airbnbs, the trademarks.

You want to hear some of the reviews, yeah I love the reviews like, grand amenities, I love, is this actually Skinwalker Ranch reviews, it’s Skinwalker Ranch on Google Google Maps whatever, there’s 364 reviews Skinwalker Ranch on, that’s a lot, not as much as us, Trip Advisor, what star rating you think they have, I’m going to go 2.9, it’s out of five right, yeah, I’m 2.9, 2.5, 4.3, oh hot spot in Utah, we’re going, I know I’m not kidding I’m going to leave him in one ser right now, just like to bring them down on that.

So Bubba snow this guy sorry, a year ago gave it five stars nice, never go to base 2 at night I almost died, base two, I don’t know must be a little, yeah there maybe there, we know that we didn’t research, but I loved everything else and I was welcomed by what looked like some type of wolf and I didn’t get that close but it looked like kind of concerned and it was hanging around me and my other friends, like it, thought it was cool because I was pretty sure it was protecting us from something, okay automatic, it’s just a wolf, I know, no do you, no first of all a wolf’s always travel in packs and they’ll send a scout out and automatic, dude raw wolves will murder you, they don’t give a if you’re in their territory they think you’re a predator, sounds this sounds more like a stray dog, and he’s like this wolf was protecting me and my six friends he looked scared, yeah right, and real wolves are huge, huge they’re terrifying, yeah, horribly scary.

There’s another one from William, five stars, and he says five stars there’s wolves, be very careful if you venture near Skinwalker Ranch, Skywalker Ranch, there’s a big guy with a white beard walking around, he’s like a billionaire doing nothing, he says it’s a known fact you may experience the Hitchhiker effect, you may end up with many terror filled nights never wanting to close your eyes and sleep again, okay I just want one more, like I said I feel like there’s a bunch of trolls in here, can you find a one star, I mean can we see where the IP addresses of these reviews are coming from, if they’re all coming from like a call center in Bangladesh we know who these reviews are coming from.

Okay lowest, yeah one star says private property so no entrance, literally can’t go on the road, why that deserves a one star though, local property owners also probably tired of the traffic in the rural road to see the place, can’t see anything from the blocked road anyway I’m out, roads block, and these guys’s like the wolf, yeah the wolf, and then they have this picture here, the wolf jumped on my back, nice, he’s like this one star, I drove 18 hours to me, and the ranch owner like I just bought this you give me a one star, I almost bought this at a premium, yeah, all right, I don’t know there you go.

Yeah sorry J Boots, I feel like J Boots is gonna be pissed when he hears this, well I mean he picked it, I love you but sorry, there’s nothing, like I feel like I could start like, I mean if there’s more evidence that comes out or if somebody’s got more things that they we should know other than like feeling foreboding, by all means email us, info@theconspiracypodcast.com, we’ll put an edit in, yeah we’ll definitely do a little edit, we’ll just be, me, we’ve done it by myself, we have done it before, yeah we’ve done, we changed an episode, Freemasons, oh yeah the Freemason the guy wrote in he was like you, we’re like you know you’re right we’ll, no but we do appreciate you Boots, and there you go that’s Skinwalker Ranch.

If you got more stories let us know, more better reviews let us know, otherwise join patreon just do it, if you’re not in the patreon, still big shout out to you guys for helping us reach 500,000 listens so far, yeah seriously, and like just listen that’s good enough, if you don’t want to pay it’s good enough, yeah, want to put a little poll on Spotify about this maybe, yeah absolutely, Skinwalker Ranch is it Navajo lore or is it alien portals or is it like mind control, yeah exactly, here we go, all right guys, night night.
